05/03/09. 1:00pm. Join fellow Trout Unlimited members and the White River Partnership this coming Sunday, May 3rd, 1:00pm at the West Hartford bridge to help green up the White River and Clifford Park. The town of Hartford will provide the traditional green trash bags and pick them up for our volunteers on Monday. This is a big one! In future years, this will be THE major Spring clean-up, though the location may change with needs. Can’t make it? Too far to drive? No problem! Granville, Reading, Springfield, Lyme, Fairlee, Plainfield–I’m talking to you! Find a friend or family member and plan to clean up a river or watershed closer to you this weekend. Contact your local municipal offices for more information. Please send a note to let the Chapter know how many bags of junk that you personally removed from our watershed and how many hours you spent to do it. This information is valuable for the Chapter and National organization. All you need to bring is yourself, some boots and gloves. Please also consider your needs regarding food, beverage, sunscreen, clothing, weather, etc. Park along Rte. 14 near the West Hartford Library, or across the river where the VAST trail goes into Clifford park. See you on the streamside!
